Council Notes

• Council is very pleased to have Pastor Charis Caldwell agree to be our temporary pastor. Her enthusiasm is wonderful to work with as we are planning this 2012 year. Come join us for worship to welcome Pastor Charis to our church.

• There will be a Congregational Meeting after church on Sunday January 29th. We will be presenting the 2012 budget and per capita, nominating three members for the 2012 nominating committee and voting for the slate of 2012-2014 elders as nominated by the 2011 nominating committee.

• Good news that Pastor Charis will be working with Heather Austin to get the First Presbyterian Website updated.

• Our seminary student, Sharon Jensen, has just been endorsed by our council to move from Inquirer to Candidate of Minister of Word and Sacrament. Sharon is in her final year at seminary. It sounds like she will be in the area in February; she will be meeting with Presbytery at that time for their approval.

• Next team meeting are Monday February 6th at 7pm.

The session of the Church is the ruling board of officers.  It is made up of the Pastor and those men and women elected by the Congregation to represent the Congregation in the policy decisions of the Church.  Members of the Congregation should always feel free to visit with a member of the Session about any matter related to the work of the Church.  The Session is generally called to oversee the spiritual life of the Congregation and to establish policy and budget for the accomplishment of the mission of the Church.
